What Could High Bp With Fluid Accumulation In Body Suggest?
I have recently been having high blood pressure and fluid accumulation in my body and have been placed on medication for it, however, I checked my blood pressure in my right arm today and the reading was 220/130 while my left arm reading was 160/96, what is going on and should I be concerned? I also have some other major health issues and wonder if this is secondary to another illness I have.
I carefully passed through your question and would explain that your actual blood pressure values (220/130 mm Hg) are really high.
You should know that there is always a small difference in blood pressure between the two arms. That is because of the differences in the blood vessels anatomy.
But the difference that you refer is really abnormal and am be indicative of blood vessels narrowing.
That is why I would recommend consulting with a cardiologist or a vascular surgeon and performing a Doppler ultrasound of the upper limb vessels to exclude possible narrowing.
An angio CT scan of the supra-arotic blood vessels would be more helpful in this regard.
Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
