What Could It Be If Having Red, Itchy Skin On Tailbone And What Is The Treatment?

The skin on my tailbone is red,raw and cracked. It is not an anal fissure, rather a fissure above my anus. I have experienced this in the past but it seems worse this time. It is very itchy and painful. i am classing frequently with witch hazel and aloe wipes which does give temporary relief. Is there any other home treatment you can recommend?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to a yeast infection.
I suggest using Clotrimazole cream for local application.
I also suggest wearing cotton underwear and loose clothes.
I suggest practicing a good hygiene.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
