What Could It Be If Having Sharp Pain In Neck When Yawning?
Hello. I am 54 years old. For awhile now I have had sharp pain in my neck when I yawn more often than usual. The pain lasts about a minute and is very painful. It is on the right side of my throat, just at the base of the chin. I need to know what this could be.
Your description is not very clear. I assume that the area you are mentioning is something just below your right ear. In that case, this could be a condition called temporomandibular joint arthritis. This causes pain when you widely open your mouth during yawning. You have to avoid eating hard food for sometime and chew on the left side of your mouth. Do now widely open your mouth. If it hurts a lot take a pain killer. Meet an ENT or a dentist near your place.
