I have a pea size lump infront of my left ear but above the jaw bone. I have noticed it for probably 2 years and I always seem to forget about it till the one day I touch and there it is. It kinda moves but generally just stays in same place. Does not hurt. I don't think it has grown in size at all. What can it be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query lumps in-front of left ear and above jaw bone which is movable could be due to lipoma, neurofibroma, infection or benign tumors of the salivary glands. Lump could be due to parotitis acute infection. Need not to worry. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Go for an FNAC /biopsy of the lumps for confirmation. Take a course of antibiotics for 5 days along with NSAIDS. Apply cold compressors on face. Rest treatment depends upon the diagnosis and medications would be enough for treatment. If condition keeps on persisting go for incision and drainage.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
