What Could Mucus Filled Stools In Infants Suggest?

My 22 month old son has been passing green stools for the last 24 hours, however the last one we just changed wasn't green anymore but there was a bit of mucusy blood in it. Do we need to seek immediate medical attention or can we just continue to monitor his bowel movements?
