What Could Multiple Bumps With White Heads In Throat Indicate?

Hey earlier today I realized that my throat or should I say in the back of my mouth I have 6 small bumps...1 on each side is a white head. It felt like popcorn was in my throat. I just seen the doctor on Wednesday and it wasn't there. Is this something I can get rid of over night?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of multiple bumps with whiteheads in throat which are pointing towards a condition known as strep throat/granular pharyngitis/ tonsillitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with warm saline gargles and betadine gargles 3-4 times a day. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances , do warm saline rinses and carbonated beverages. You should take ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like strep throat and viral infection . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics (penicillin or amoxicillin ) or anti viral drug depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestants and anti inflammatory. You should maintain proper hygiene.
