Hi,I woukd get periods every month but when my doctor further investigated it turned iut i dont ovulate on my own. I had a blockage in my left tube and a retroverted uterus along with mild endometriosis. I had a lap done approximately two months ago for removal of the endometriosis and blockage, its been 2.5 months still no sign of period. I took provera about two weeks ago for 7 days and still no sign of period. Is this normal? What should be my next step? My husband and i are ttc and 2 yrs ago i had an ectopic in my right tube. No luck since.
For secondary amenorrhea since 2-5 months, if you are sexually active and have been doing unprotected sex you should get pregnancy test done and also get clinically examined by a gynecologist. If you are diagnosed to be pregnant, you will be accordingly managed. However, amenorrhea can be due to other factors also. Commonly, PCOS, stress, anemia, hormonal imbalance, thyroid disease, underlying eating disorder, excessive weight loss or gain, etc., can cause amenorrhea.
Your treating gynecologist will ask you to get a few required tests and investigations done so that treatment can be started at the earliest. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected and the severity of your symptoms. Take home-made balanced food rich in minerals and high in protein. Maintain healthy weight.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
