What Could Red, Painful Dots On Skin In Limbs With Burning Feeling Indicate?
hi, I have red painful dots on my skin, mostly on the limbs, its almost like a burn from splashing hot fat. if they are picked they turn out like a bump or soar. I am 39 years old, this has been happening for years. if I leave them they go away after about 5-6 days. Any idea what they may be?
Painful rash with burning sensation are commonly due to irritants to which your skin is sensitive like nickle jewelry, cosmetics or skin care products, poison ivy, direct exposure to sunlight, use of latex, perfumes, etc. Be careful what detergents and shampoo you use. Stay away from pesticides and fertilizers. It looks like dermatitis (irritant contact dermatitis / allergic contact dermatitis). You are suggested to take care of your hygiene.
Apply hydrocortisone cream or gel in the area affected. Calamine lotion also effectively helps to give relief. Do not share your clothes or toiletries. Avoid sex for a couple of days. If sexually active you are suggested to get clinically examined by a dermatologist, get STD tests done to rule out infection by shingles (herpes zoster).
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
