What Could Sharp Pain In Ears In Elderly Suggest?

69 year old male, non-smoker, sharp pain lasting 1-2 seconds, right side of head above ear. Cat Scan, MRI, and blood tests eliminate anything serious / life threatening. Strong anti-inflammatory medication subscribed. what is the name of the condition?

This would be termed neuralgia. This is nerve related pain. It can present in different ways : sharp, sticking, burning, numbness etc

There are different possible causes such as: (1) vitamin B12 or folate deficiency
(2)trauma
(3)diabetes
(4)liver or kidney disease
(5)exposure to toxins
(6)idiopathic- no known causes
