I have had pretty much normal periods most of my life but I am 42 yrs old and a smoker and a walker I have had 3 children and for the past month period has been on and off for a solid month now and its very heavy right now and I don t think its going away any time soon could you tell me what you think it is please.
As you are in the perimenopausal age group, delay in periods or irregular periods is common. Wait and watch for another 10 days. If you have heavy bleeding with clots continuing for more than 1 week, please do consult a gynecologist. If your bleeding is accompanied by abdominal cramps, you may need to see a gynecologist. If your problem persists even after 10 days, please do consult a gynecologist for further evaluation by clinical examination and ultrasound if necessary.
