What Could Sudden Numbness In Left Arm Be Along With Neck And Shoulder Pain And Light Headed?

My husband had a sudden numbness down his left arm last night. Earlier that evening, he complained about neck and shoulder pain. He couldn t get up and was feeling light headed. I thought he was having a heart attack because he smokes and what-not. Today, he is having similar pain at work. Though not as harsh, I am worried what might be wrong. I read that an anxiety attack is very similar to a heard attack. I need to know for sure or atleast closer to where I am right now. Please!
