Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
after i use the restroom and wipe i have small black dots and some long ones. I thought I had pin worms and have had test and they say they are negative also have had a colonocpy and they said it was negative. i am a little concerned because i am on PD for my kidneys.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of your being on PD- peritoneal dialysis for your kidney problems, noticed small black dots and some long ones in the stool which you thought to be pin worms but the stool tests and the colonoscopy is normal. I would advise in such a situation the following: Take a single shot of Albendazole as these worms may not be detected every time you give stool for tests. Also get the stool tests for 3 consecutive days as one of these may show up some positive finding which can be easily and definitely treated well. Take care about what you eat as undigested particles also can present like these. Get an ultrasonography of the abdomen done as you are having PD.
