Hi, I have a small lump on the side of my face, a bit like a small cyst. I have had these behind my ears also before, but they had gone within a few weeks. This on the otherhand, has been on my face for about 3 and half weeks now. What could this be? It is hard to touch but not painful. Thank you. Anita
Understanding your concern. As per your query facial lump with hardness could be due to draining abscess of underlying tooth as it is not painful. It could be due to stone in salivary duct, infection of oral cavity , lipoma and lymph node inflammation. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to consult an ENT specialist and get it examined. Physical examination is very important to find out right diagnosis. Doctor may need an X-ray and an biopsy of the lump to figure out exact diagnosis. Maintain hygiene of oral cavity. Avoid sharp, spicy food substances as it will exaggerate your symptoms. Drink plenty of water.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
