What Could The Greasy Discharge During Bowel Movement Indicate?

I just experienced an orange, greasy discharge with my bowel movement. My stool was not loose, and I noticed droplets of this substance floating in the toilet bowel. I ve since had some seepage of the same orange substance. I m not in any pain and my LFT s were normal in December 2013.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

A single episode of the greasy discharge during bowel movements may be indicative of some sort of infection, particular foodstuffs as high dairy fat, non-veg or junk foods with partial indigestion of the same.

On the reverse, if the issue is happening on & off without any obvious precipitating factors, then thorough workup for the malabsorption syndrome though small intestine must be of prime suspicious.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
