What Could Vaginal Itch And Soreness Be With Burning Sensation While Urination?

Hi I have one partner I was tested 4 months ago for std everything came back negative. For the past 4 days my vagina has been very sore and itchy I am on my period so haven't noticed any discharge but it also burns when I pee and it feels almost like I have cuts around the opening of my vagina. My health insurance doesn't kick in until February so I can't go to the Dr until then. Do you know what this maybe?

Hello. First of all sorry for your symptoms. From your symptoms it seems like you are having a urinary tract infection. If you have been having any fever/chills that would also point towards a Urine tract infection. If you have insurance you can go to your doctor and he will do a urine test plus some tests to check for infection. The most common bug causing urine tract infections is a bacteria called E.coli and the treatment for that is an antibiotic for 5-7 days. If you dont have health insurance and dont have any other way to go see a doctor , you can start ciprofloxacin 500 mg tablet twice a day for 5 days to be taken after meals. But only take this medicine if you know you are not allergic to it. Also drink alot of water as it makes you pee alot clears the infection quickly. Refrain from having sex for 1 week.
