What Could Watery Diarrhea With Excess Burping Suggest?
my mother has been feeling very unwell for the last 2 weeks with diarrea off and on and vomiting occasionally. Today she is incredibly unwell. she's severe diarrea, when i say severe i mean its like fluid. she has also vomited black, last year she had an operation removing gallbladder as she suffered cancer there. she burps a lot, it stinks really bad. Any advice would be great.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Watery diarrhea is caused due to viral infection or bacterial infection (cholera, shigella, E coli). Drinks plenty of liquids, avoid spicy food and alcohol.
Use tablet sporolac. Use ORS fluids as much as she can drink.
If she feels dehydrated or has altered sensorium or decresed urine output then please consult your physician who will examine and treat her accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
