Hello,
Vaginoses keep recurring even without active sexual life. They can remain dormant for years and have flare ups every now if not treated properly during the initial phase. Poor genital hygiene, use of tampons and sanitary napkins for prolonged period, general illness and malnutrition, all of these can result in a flare up. It is also possible to contract infection when using contaminated water for washing purposes and unhygienic public toilets. Please follow your doctor's instructions and maintain genital hygiene. Hope this helps.
