What Cure Can Be Taken For Vaginal Odor While On Metformin?
Dear Doctor I was diagnosed a little over a year ago with PCOS. I was prescribed Metformen 50 mg tabs I take 1 tablet 2 times daily I haven t been back to the doctor that prescribed the medicine in over a yr due to insurance issues. I have recently over the past 2 months had a foul smell coming from the vaginal and increased discharge. I do also take birth control. I can t explain the smell but it is VERY rank. It goes away with showers but withing 12 hrs it s back could this be caused by the cysts popping? Or from something else it s very embarrassing to stand by someone & smell it & just know that they smell it too... thank you for taking the time
Bad vaginal odor along with increased discharge could be bacterial vaginosis (disruption of normal bacterial flora) or vaginal infection. Vaginal swab microscopy and culture are required to confirm the diagnosis. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, appropriate antibiotics can be chosen.
