What Diet Should Be Followed While Suffering From Hiatal Hernia?

Yes,I recently was diagnosed w/ a hiatal hernia. Three years ago my gall bladder was removed. When you combine these two health conditions w/ my IBS & lactose intolerance, it is becoming difficult to know what to eat , what to avoid etc. Do you have any suggestions? Marie Lyons

Hi,

IBS with a hiatus hernia with postcholecystectomy status food to be taken is low FODMAP.

Avoid gluten contain food, avoid lactose contain food.

Use tablet Pantoprazole. Drink plenty of liquids, use tablet Sporulac.

Avoid high fatty, spicy food and avoid alcohol.

Elevate the head end of the bed, take a small number of meals intermittently.

Use tablet Normaxin. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu,
