You need to eat a high carbohydrate, moderate protein and moderate fat diet. Limit intake of fried and oily foods, spicy foods and rich gravies. Eat simple , easily digestible and nutritious food like khichdi, idli, rice, potatoes, bread etc. You can have proteins but in moderate amounts. Include proteins which are of good quality like eggwhites, chicken and mutton but have them in forms which are not fried or prepared with lots of spices as you need to restrict fat and spices . Fresh home made juice is better than packed ones or juice from vendors which might be contaminated. Drink only boiled and cooled water/ filtered water and do not eat outside food or street food as they are not prepared with utmost hygiene. Make sure you eat cooked food prepared hygienically at home. You can take liquids containing carbohydrates like fruit juices with added sugars. Milk can be taken but in limited amount. Rest well and have small frequent feedings to facilitate better digestion.
