What Do I Do About Excruciating Pain In The Back Of My Spine After A Month S Bed Rest?
Hi, Last month when I went to the hospital with excruciating pain in the back of my spine, the doctor said that pushed the disc and hit the nerve(IVDP). It has been a month now on bed rest. Now the pain is less. But there is a little pain. What to do next?
The first line of management is reducing the inflammation and soreness causing pain. You can take acetaminophen or NSAIDs, one after food to get relieve from pain. Get clinically examined by an orthopedic surgeon and get an MRI, therapeutic ultrasound done for precise diagnosis so that treatment can be started at the earliest.
Apart from conservative treatment it is treated with physical therapy, stretch therapy, massage therapy, heat and cold therapy, ultrasound therapy, epidural steroid injections, etc. In severe cases surgery is recommended. Do regular walking and stretch exercises. Lose weight if obese.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
