What Do I Do If TB Medication Dosage Doesn T Match My Weight?

Hi, I have been detected with skin tb. I have been advised by doctor to use akt4 for 2 months and then akt3 for 4 months, which I have completed. My weight is 65 kg. And now I realise that this dose is not according to my weight. What should I do now? Weather this will lead to complications or advanced form of tb in future?

Hi,

Definitely, the dosage you took are somewhat less for your weight. But, it may not cause any complication to you. However, it may cause a failure of treatment due to less effectivity in a few cases, resulting in the relapse of the disease. Hence, you should be more careful about the symptoms of disease relapse and if it occurs, you will need repeat treatment under guidance of your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
