What Do I Do When Urine Test Results Show Trace Albumin, Occult Blood, Elevated Pus Cells Count And Epithelial Cells Count, And Bacteria?
Hi doctors, I am sharing my mother s urine test report, ultrasound reports and 1 more reports. Please let me know what should we do? Her albumin is fant trace, occult blood is dist.trace and pus cells is 15-20 /hpf and epithelial cell is 10-12/ hpf. And also bacteria present in urine.
Albumin is a protein that is normally retained in the blood by healthy kidneys. Occult blood in the urine may be indicative of UTI, kidney stones or developing kidney damage or early sign of kidney disease. The presence of 15-20 pus cells per high power field (hpf) and 10-12 epithelial cells per hpf in your urine, along with bacteria, indicates a urinary tract infection (UTI).
Get your mother clinically examined by a Urologist. Get required blood tests & imaging tests (ultrasound, CT, MRI, etc.) done to rule out any kidney issue. If UTI is detected, she will be treated accordingly (with antibiotics) and recommend further tests (Urinalysis -C/S and R/E) to identify the specific bacteria causing the infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
