I cannot determine the exact cause of these pea sized swellings unless I see it. Based on your description, it seems to be varicosity of veins. These increase as pregnancy progresses, but is not harmful to you or baby. Varicosity vanishes in few weeks after your deliver. If the bumps are painful and look like pimples, they may be boils which are common in pregnancy. you may need pain killers and antibiotics if they get worse.
