What Do Burning Sensation And Itching In The Right Eye Indicate?

My right eye is burning and itchy, occasionally watery. This has been going on for a couple of months. I saw an optometrist and he said I have dry eye. I have been using Systane # s times a day with no relief. It feels like there is something in my eyelid. Any suggestions? Thank you, Eileen Bushway

Hello,

It can be allergic with dry eye. Use refresh eye teardrop and tablet levocetrizine in the morning for the one-week system is just lubricant get your eye examined by an eye doctor. Exclude blepharitis, not even. You can apply Neosporin eye ointment in the lid margin, and clean by sterile swab exclude autoimmune disorder. May require dilatation of punctum or surgical occlusion of punctum so that that tear is accumulated in the sac and dry eye is compensated regularly refresh eye teardrop.
