Neurologist, Surgical 's  Response
Hi, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. The constant headache which persists even after waking up is usually "tension or stress headache". Other common headache like Migraine, cluster occur in episodes and in between, patient is pain free. Another less common cause can be "mass lesion in brain". Mass lesion in brain can cause pain exacerbation in morning time due to rise in intracranial pressure.
Also mass lesions usually causes focal headache rather than holocranial and mostly associated with seizures or focal deficit.

In your case, above mentioned two possibilities have to be ruled out. My advise is to get "MRI brain " done and consult neurologist.

The neurologist will also rule out any visual problem, neurological deficit. If there is mass lesion, you will be referred to neurosurgeon for further management. Most of the mass lesions are managed by surgery.

If no mass lesion, stress headache will be the cause. It can be treated by

- Tablet Acetaminophen or paracetamol/diclofenac/Ibuprofen with or without paracetamol after proper prescription
- Avoid mental stress, bright light, lack of sleep
- Doing exercise and Yoga on daily basis
- Wear glasses if you are already using
- A good head massage will also give relief

Hope it will help you. If still in doubt, do let me know.
Thanks. Take care.
