Hello,
I read your message and understood your medical problem.
I see that you have noticed sudden
sore throat in the morning which has become worse and current fever.
It can be due to a cold or something else. But a sudden sore throat is more characteristic for the
strep throat. Symptoms of a strep throat are usually more severe than those of a
common cold.
Strep throat is accompanied by other symptoms too like red tonsils with
white spots over them, painful swallowing, and loss of appetite.
If in the next couple of days the symptoms do not get better as it happens in a common cold and other symptoms that I mention, appear this means that you have strep throat and you need to see you GP for evaluation. Your doctor will ask you to do a strep test or send some throat swab to the microbiology lab.
It is very important to treat a strep throat on time as it can cause the
rheumatic fever which damages the heart valves.
Another possibility is
tonsillitis which is accompanied with a
bad breath too and a sudden sore throat does not happens typically.
To conclude over what I discussed above I think that you probably have a strep throat. You must see your GP and do a strep test or a throat swab culture.
If you come out with strep throat you need to take antibiotics for around 10 days.
Hope this was helpful.
