What Do Itchy Red Bumps On Knees Indicate?

hi,im 23, female and have itchy red bumps all over the side of my knees and have been feeling itchy ALL over. Its been about a month now. and sometimes it seems to go away but then comes back, like tonight. The more i scratch the more it seems to spread and sometimes the spots i itch bruise.
