What Do Masses On Neck With Normal Blood And CT Scan Results Indicate?

My 8 year old son has several masses on his neck. His bloodwork came back normal n so did his ct scan. The doctor told us that the masses are normal. That is not a good enough answer for me as his mother. I'm taking him to Hershey Children's Hospital for a second opinion. Should I be worried about these masses or are they normal?

Hi
Welcome to the healthcaremagic
It depends on size, location and consistency of neck mass. If they are behind ear, firm in consistency then they might me enlarged lymph nodes. If it is less than 1 cm in diameter and not matted then don't worry. But if more than that or more than two in number then they need investigation and trial of antibiotic for 14 days.If reports are Nirmal and no response to antibiotic then excisional biopsy should be performed. If its report comes normal then don't worry
Happy to help you
Best regards
