What Do Periods Start Postpartum?

Hi I m currently 8 weeks postpartum! I started my mini pill on Friday & then forgot to take it on Monday, Tuesday came & I got my period! Is this normal? I am breadtfeeding & supplementing at night with formula! I m on day 4 & it is rather heavy with clots passing! I usually get heavy periods but not this heavy! Is this considered normal for the first postpartum period?

Hi,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. This is more likely to be your first natural postpartum period. The first one can be heavier than the usual, but, you may need to check the blood loss with medication. Also, the first time you use the pill, you need additional protection and can also expect menstrual disturbances. Please see your consultant for further information. Take care.
