What Do Pink Colored Shins With Scabs Indicate?

I have skin sores on both of my shins. They have be on my shins for at least 12 years. They stay inthe same location and have not spread. I have treated them with topical ointment for skin irritation and the such. All in all they have stayed pretty much the same. They are a dusky pink color and develop scabs and then shed them and start all over once again. Do you have any ideas?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi there,,,welcome to HCM
- Scaly skin lesions over the shin since last 12 yrs can be Psoriasis or chronic
eczema
- I advice you to seek a dermatologist for a right diagnosis or provide a
clear picture of the lesions to me, so that i can appreciate the condition
better.
- For the time being apply a good emollient like Emolene lotion over the
lesions to prevent it from scaling.
- Use a mometasone based cream at night.
- If there is any associated itching than take levocetirizine 10 mg at night
Hope this will help you
