What Do Presence Of Entamoeba Hostolytica In The Stool Sample Of An Amoebiasis Infant Suggest?

Hi, my 1 1/2 old son had amoebiasis last week and is taking medication of Flagyl for almost a week. We take his stool exam today to know the progress of his medication and the result read like this : Entamoeba hostolytics cyst 1-3/hpf. Please kindly enlighten me with the result. Thanks & Regards

That means Amoebiasis has not been settled. Kindly take Syp. Entamizole DS 1+1 for 5 days.
As the amoeba present in the lumen of the intestine are not killed by Flagyl. You should take combination of diloxanide furoate and metronidazole that is Entamizole DS.
