What Do Red Spots On Forearms, Stomach And Back Indicate?

I have tiny red spots on my forearms, stomach and back that itch. I feel like I have hives and once I start to scratch them I cannot stop. I went to the MD a week ago and was prescribed a Medrol Dospak that helped it to go away. I took the last one on Sunday morning. I started scratching again last night and today the red spots appeared. Could stress that I am under contribute to this? Or is it something else? Thanks, Holly

Hello,

Welcome to healthcare magic.

From your history and description, it seems that you may be having acute urticaria.

Some common causes include infections like an urinary tract infection or sore throat, worm infestations, specific foods, new medications, etc.

In many cases, it is not possible to find a specific cause.

You could take antihistamines like loratidine by day and benadryl at night for about 2 weeks. If the symptoms recur again, you could visit a dermatologist for further evaluation.

Hope this helps you.

Take care.
