What Do Round Itchy Rashes In The Groin Area And Armpits Indicate?

I have had this problem many, many times (most of my life) in specific areas, but Never like I have it now! I ll call it galding. The places involved are: under both arms/arm pits; under both breasts--this I have all year round--often times at varying degrees & last but not least, the entire groin/everywhere imaginable w/in that entire region/area. At this time, it itches, but at the same time is also sore. It is very red & very heavy in all those above described/mentioned!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You seem to have a fungal infection. The infection usually starts in the body folds like axilla, groins, arm pits and gradually extends outwards forming rings with a raised margin and central clearing. Itching is a prominent symptom. I suggest you to use can OTC topical antifungal cream e.g Clotrimazole 1% cream, twice daily for 2-4 weeks. In addition I suggest you to take an oral antifungal e.g tablet Fluconazole or Terbinafine since you have extensive involvement. You may also take an oral antihistamine e.g Tab Cetrizine for symptomatic relief from itching.
