What Do U Suggest For Fever After Pulse Polio Vaccine?

I am Sanjaya Sahoo. Yesterday I had taken my 2 year old boy for the Pulse Polio vaccine drive at orissa. After 30 minutes of the does he is having fever. I have given paracetamol - 120mg for 4 times. Since he is having mild fever coming back. In the previous Pulse Polio vaccine he was not having similar problem. Is this something serious.

I am so sorry to hear about this fever after vaccination.The treatment is t continue given Tyleno at appropriate age and weight doses every 6hours for 3-4days. This is enough and the fever would generally go away without any further medical attention.Though not very common, it is not rare to observe fever after vaccination. This should in no way discourage you fro following up with the rest of the vaccination calendar. Vaccinations save lives compared to the disaster caused by disease.

Hi Generally after any vaccine antibody are produced against the vaccine which is known as immunological response and one of its symptoms is fever generally there is persistent fever for 3 days. I dont think any reason to get worry. But it will be better if you consult a pediatrician. Get well soon. Thank you
