Had quadruple bypass at Mayo Jacksonville preceded by congestive heart failure from Sept till...I guess now. 61 years old, 6 2 175 pounds and close to 70,000 miles of walking and running since Jan. 1st, 1980. Bad genes...I guess. Walked 3 yesterday.
The main mode of treatment for congestive heart failure is by diuretics like thiazides and loop diruetics.
If the 2D ECHO reveals low ejection fraction rate, then it needs improvement with the help of ionotropes.
Thirdly good control of blood pressure less than 140/90 mm of hg, is needed to control the complication of congestive cardiac failure like pulmonary edema and low serum electrolytes.
Thanks
