Hi,
Please do not be sad. These are really very common issues.
The discharge may be from infection.
Fungal infection is one possibility and your doctor has treated you for it. However the color of the discharge suggests that it may be trichomonas or even
bacterial vaginosis.
The infections are usually local and do not harm the baby per se. However they can cause
preterm labor pain.
Another common cause is cervical erosion that occurs during pregnancy and regresses later.
I suggest that you go your gynecologist, get a cervical and vaginal swab tested for microscopy and culture. Look for the organism. If it is a mixed infection, pessaries containing mixture of
clotrimazole, clindamycin and secnidazole or
metronidazole are effective. Also get your sugar tested as high blood sugars can predispose to vaginitis.
Other measures include local hygiene, changing undergarments twice daily, washing them with hot water and keeping the area clean and dry.
Hope this helped. Thanks for using HCM.
Enjoy a safe pregnancy and delivery.
