What Does ESR Count 100 Indicate And Fever Ranging From 103-104?

ESR was 130, which went down to 100 after an antibiotics course. Had fever for 10-15days around 103-104 initially and later on lowered to 100 and now it s normal however esr is still 100 and a bad cough. chest x-ray and whole abdomen ultrasound came out fine. what could it be?

Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. ESR will take longer to come down.
2. C-reactive protein or CRP is more of an immediate marker for inflammation. Get a CRP done to identify the level of inflammation.
3. Try salt water gargling along with lozenges to soothe throat.
4. ESR will take another month to get back to normal. Associated anemia and dehydration needs to be looked into and corrected.
