What Does Leucocyte Esterase On Urinalysis Denote?
I am a female aged 30 years, did a urinalysis.urine microscopy and got the following results: colur of urine - slightly cloudy and yellow Pus cells /hpf: 1-5 Epitherial cells : moderate Leucocyte Esterase : 1 plus. Do the above results mean i should go for treatment, are they serious, please interpret and let me the effects/implications. Can i infect my husband if we had sex. Thanks
According to your urine analysis results, you may be suffering from a urinary tract infection. You may need to better do an uroculture to check which kind of bacteria is causing it and which antibiotic works best for it. I would have treated you empirically with ciprofloxacin. Using lots of fluids and water and especially cranberry juice is advisable.
