Brief Answer:
No treatment needed for the moment. You should do further examinations to make a adequate followup plan guided by a GI doctor.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM.
All the examinations results mentioned below are normal, except HbsAg and HBV-DNA. As your liver enzymes are normal, and your HbV-DNA is below 2000ui/ml, you seem to be just host, carrier of hepatitis B virus and the infection seems not to be active actually. So I agree with your doctor, no treatment is needed for the moment, but to make a follow- up plan , must be done some more laboratory exams such as quantitative HbsAg and HbeAg. HbeAg determines which strain of hepatitis B virus do you have. If the HbeAg is negative , you should evaluate ALT levels and HbsAg quantitative every 3 months during the first year. If the HbeAg is positive than you should monitor ALT and HbeAg every 6 - 12 months. Eventhough , i suggest this follow- up process to be guided by your GI doctor. Is important for your partner to be tested for hepatitis B, and if he is negative , he must be vaccinated.

Hope this is helpful.
