What Does A Boil Under Breast Indicate?

Hello, I have a boil under my breast. I noticed it Monday morning. I have been using warm compresses and tea bags. The swelling and pain has diminished tremendously. However, the boil does not have a head or puss area that is ready to burst. I don t have a fever, and I do not feel sick. Will the boil disappear or drain on its own? How long should I wait before deciding to see a doctor? Thanks for any help. DL

I can understand your concern for boil under breast. After analyzing your query it appears to be related to deep infection in the breast area. The description you have provided is quite enough to note that the infection has almost subsided and is regressing now.

In case if you feel that the pain is persisting or the lesion is increasing then it is quite important to take an opinion from a surgeon or a family physician to rule out any deep infection. In case if you feel that the area is increasing then you can take a course of good antibiotic such as ciprofloxacin to cover the infection.
For the time being period you can take a pain killer to reduce the inflammation and pain over the breast reason. Do not wear tight undergarment as it can cause more aggravation of he problem. You can discuss further with a surgeon or a family physician.
