What Does A Bulky Placenta Mean?

Hi I am currently 14weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. Yesterday I had a dating scan at the hospital and they said the placenta is slightly bulky. They referred me to a specialist and have to have a follow up scan in 2 weeks. What does a bulky placenta mean? My baby seems healthy and was very active. Many thanks

Bulky placenta causes are many ,there should be proportionate growth of placenta and foetus along with the weeks.
Disproportionate growth be due to diabetis ,BP,twin pregnancies,some abnormal conditions of placenta ,molar pregnancy.

Get a complete profile like -

Complete bolld picture
Complete urine examination
Thyroid profile
24 hrs urine protein levels
Choriocentesis(if necessary),biopsy of placenta

Consult a gynic.
