What Does A Cut In The Vagina Indicate?

I noticed about 2 months ago or so that I was having some pain when having sex. It felt as though there was a cut or almost something like a rug burn. I tried not having sex for around a week or two and then I thought it was better because I had sex and didn t feel any pain, but now and then I find I can still feel the same pain. I went to the doctor and they didn t see/ feel anything. When it started hurting again my boyfriend looked and said he could see a little cut on the inside of my vagina. I m not sure if I should go back to the doctors or if there is something else I could do.

Hi,

Yes, he may be right there can be a vaginal cut. there are few reasons for the vaginal cut.
1.     vaginal infection can cause this issue. infection from unhygienic sex practice, public toilets, mensural pad
2.     Allergic to semen is a rare condition (use a condom to identify)
3.     Dryness can be due to infection, improper foreplay by the partner leads to dry sex or decreased vaginal secretion during sex, dehydration, age factor, hormonal imbalance
4.     Forceful sex can also cause injury and cause cuts
5.     Foreign bodies due to unhygienic sex practice, use of sex toys 6.     Benign or malignant polyp
7.     Anatomical abnormalities
8.     Vaginismus can be due to anxiety during sex which causes vaginal muscle contraction
9.     Eczema
10.     Deep penetration by different sex position causing injury 11.     History of surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
