I have a growth on the opening of my vagina, appeared to look like a skin tag but has slowly gotten bigger. It doesn't hurt or have any discharge..I'm concerned and have an appointment with my gyno next week but am now worried it could be a cancer growth.
Hello dear Understand your concern. Exact diagnosis is done by examination and after proper investigations You should concern the gynecologist for that. Skin tag most commonly due to genital wart that is caused by Human papiloma virus or it may be due to precancerous condition of cervix. Get the following test done: PAP smear. DNA test, NAAT test for HPV virus Doctor may give following treatment if wart is diagnosed: Topical: 80% Trichloroacetic acid gel, If not respond to medicine you can go for excision by Nitrogen cryotherapy or electrocauterization In addition Avoid sex till you clear from infection, Use safer sex practice: Use condom, Dental dams, Maintain hygiene after sex Hope this may help you Wish you good health Best regards Dr. Sagar
