What Does A Itchy Red Spot On Buttocks Indicate?

my bf has a large red hard spot on his left butt cheek/hip and it itches. I have examined and there appears to be no bite mark from a spider or anything. I also noticed it on both sides of the upper crack of his butt. Again appears to be no marks just itchy and red and hard. Please help.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query,
He might have developed fungal infection.
The area is very moist and is prone to develop these infections.
Treatment can be with oral antifungals as well as with topical antifungals.
Various antifungal powders like candid are availabe.
These can help reduce the moisture as well as control the infection.
Please dont use any steroid, it can worsen the condition.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
Let me know if you have any other doubt.
