What Does A Lump On The Temple Indicate?

Hello I have a small hard lump on top of temple.. kind of feels like it is connected to skull. I have had it for a few years and it is probably a little smaller than a penny so I didn t really worry about it.. but it feels like it maybe grew a little bit over time. Is this some type of cyst and is it recommended that I remove it? Thanks in advance
