What Does A Needle Type Sensation In Head Mean?

I have a sharp needle sensation on my left temple. It started out of no where yesterday. It feels like an electric shock when the pain strikes every couple of second to minutes.it hurts bad and I feel it a little in my brain too. What can this be ? Anything to do with my nerve ? It s not a headache !

Dear
I am sorry for the symptoms you are suffering
I read your query and understand your concern
In my opinion you are suffering from tensive headache which is fully treatable
You should use a combination of daily treatment such as propanolol (or depachine,Topamax, amitriptyline) and pain killers for some days (ibuprofen)
Anyway I would strongly reccomend a neurological evaluation and if it is possible scheduling a brain MRI just to be sure we aren't missing something (just to exclude temporal arteritis)
Hope my answer will help you in fast recovery
Stay healthy
Best regards
