Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My name is Chip. I am a 71 year old male in pretty good shape. Recently I went for my yearly physical and during my prostrate exam he found a nodule on my prostrate that wasn’t there last year. My doctor sent me to a urologist who sent me for not one but two mri’s. One for the prostrate area and a few days later an mri higher up. Any idea why the second mri?
If the doctors are concerned that the nodule is prostate cancer, then they may have done the second MRI to look for enlarged lymph nodes or metastases.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Kathy Robinson
