I have a large k not where my clavicle and sternum connect, which is very painful to touch. Also have pain that extends out to my shoulder and up my neck. Had x rays which were clear. They put me in a sling this is week 2 and no answers? :-( I have had bursitis several times but never like this. I also have RA . 17 years now I m 49 but again nothing like this. Any suggestions?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The possible issue here seems to be inflammation involving sternoclavicular joint with referred pain to shoulder.

I strongly recommend undertaking an MRI evaluation for the same.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
