What Does Absence Of Cardiac Movement In Fetus During Pregnancy Indicate?
i had my last periods on 18.10.2014 and got positive result by UPT on 27.11.2014. I got my first ultrasound done on 11.12.2014 and the radiologist says its late conception and pregnancy is 4 weeks 4 days and no cardiac movement can be seen right now since its too early. so is it all normal?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. Fetal heart can be detected in USG abdomen by 5 weeks ( with vaginal probe) & 7-8 weeks by abdominal probe. Since sonologist states it to be a late conception & 4 wk4 days fetus- abscence of heart beats at this stage in USG scan -is justified. Thanks.
